The Advertiser - www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/footy/Power keeps cool on Sturt clash By ANDREW CAPEL 13feb03 PORT Adelaide is not expected to reschedule its 4pm trial game against Sturt at Alberton Oval on Saturday – despite predicted 37C temperatures. The Power yesterday was adamant the match would go ahead on time but that precautionary measures would be taken to assure players did not suffer heat stress. "We'll take all the necessary precautions," Port football operations manager Mick Moylan said. "There will be plenty of cooling facilities on tap for players from both teams – ice vests, fans and our swimming pool. "We'll also use commonsense and make sure players are rotated throughout the game. "But it should be noted that players are used to training in the heat, which they do all summer." The match will be played over five 20-minute terms without added time with both clubs rotating about 30 players. With extended interchange benches, Moylan said he expected most players would get "about 40-to-60 minutes" game time. "We're keen to give all of our available players a decent run," he said. Squads for the game will be announced today. Tickets are $5 adults and $2 concession with children under-15 free.
