Felt like wrist slashng when I heard Fabian Francis will most likely play for South Adelaide next year . Apparently they offered more money, so it's sayonara Pies!!!!! Which begs the question - how is recruiting going? Haven't heard anything so far. A club is only as good as it's playing staff. Port is spending big bucks providing an entourage for Steve Williams, but it's like an army with a lot of generals but no cattle to carry out the orders We need players asap.

FLASH!! AH-HAA! Saviour of the Universe!
lol... sorry... couldn't resist that considering recent events.
I personally think Flash would feel better out of the Port environment, expecially if there's still some kind of hostility still hanging around regarding the circumstances of his leaving and all. Maybe he just doesn't want to go to the Magpies knowing he'll run into someof the Power staff and players on a regular basis, rather than maybe one or two Power-listed players once a week at training.

I doubt there is any friction between Fabian and Port regarding his departure...........
He wanted a 3 year contract whereas the club only offered a 1 year deal...........looking back on things he made a bad career move (which he has acknowledged)as if he played at Port and had a good year he would have sewn up a long term contract........
I would say after Fabian's early AFL exit unfortunately money would come into his thinking.......a couple of years ago he probably saw himself playing AFL for at least 5 years..........now it appears that career is over.........
Still would love to see him at the Magpies though.........

what ever happend to loyalty?? how many players is that now that have left the Pies, for more cash, only for it to blow up in their face. Let's see..Waterhouse...Darcy at st kilda..couldnt get a game...Francis..... The first two could have had long and successful careers at the Power if they hadnt gone, and had stayed another year or two. But then, the Pies always did have a habit of making just good players, great.. its sad about flash though...

I find it hard to be harsh on Flash after what happened at the Frockers. The guy has a family to support first and foremost. I wonder if the number of former Power players returning to the maggies has anything to do with it as well. I wish him all the best, except against us!

I'm actually annoyed at Flash...how can he not want to be a Pie? But I also agree that maybe he does want out of the Port environment - I think there was more to his leaving than just wanting a better deal...I think it had a bit more to do with his attitude.. bec xxx

Im glad he has gone, I heard he caused a bit of problems in his last year. He could of stayed, but remember he decided to leave.
We want players to stay at the club for all the right reasons.
