ok..i know this isn't a Port thing, but i'm fired up so watch out.
Firstly, regardless of who did what, and when it happend, Carey should know better than to put himself in a position where he might be vulnerable to some bad press, and worse, another humilating exit from the game. Hasn't this guy learnt his lesson yet?
All this when the week before it came out, his wife makes the cover of Womans day telling the world how she has forgiven him, and things are fine now..new move, fresh start etc etc. Does anyone really believe that?
Secondly, something that has been annoying the crap out of me for a long time happens again. A football club blatently lies about a situation and a series of events involving one of their players. It is disgraceful, and makes the club (in this case the Crows) look extremely guilty and foolish. On Jan 15 in the Advertiser, the club came straight out and said that Carey was without doubt NOT there, and therefore NOT involved. Yet yesterday it comes out that he really was there (surprise surprise) and was involved. Come on AFC!! Treat people with a little more intelligence please.
And anyone who says that 20 people messing about in a spa doesn't constitute a party is pretty dence.
Start telling the truth about things AFC. If the players are behaved and do no wrong, then whats to hide? Footballers aren't superhumans; they drink, they party and they mess around. But most do it privately, and no one's the wiser. I have no problem with that as long as the teams doing well and winning..thats fine..
But Carey isn't a child, or a rookie player. This is like his 4th major incident that has caused him a massive amount of bad press. Grow up and get on with the task at hand. There are probably plenty of fans out there who'd do anything to slap on a AFL jumper and play, and most of those wouldnt piss it away with 1 or 2 stupid actions..
