It gives Kage and Cornhead something to talk about. Do Ronnie Burns and any other recruits ever even get a mention?
I just wonder how his ego and the not-so-smart's can fit in the same changeroom.....
PS for what it's worth, Port are getting as much, if not more, coverage than the cows in Vict. The "Salopek" story was quite high profile in the paper here today. Wilburs' efforts in the swimming the other day even got a mention here! It's better news than everything else going on in the world today. At least Melbourne is "smoke free" again today. Footballers aren't heroes, emergency service workers are. Someone should tell that to Waynkerr himself.

Would've been so funny if Waynker had tried to pay by credit card without signing an autograph...

I here the Carey/Grand hotel story was all true. I know a security gaurd at the Grand who said he flooded his room, from the spa after a argument with a female hotel worker.

Crows admit Carey at hotel incident By NICK PAPPS 04feb03 AFTER weeks of denials, the Adelaide Football Club yesterday admitted star recruit Wayne Carey was at a party in which a Glenelg hotel room was damaged.
Despite issuing a statement on January 24 rejecting allegations published interstate about the party at the Stamford Grand Hotel on January 5, the Crows have confirmed Carey was present. Club manager John Reid said Carey had been invited to a friend's 30th birthday at the hotel which began hours after the team finished a three-day training camp.
A Melbourne family staying in the adjoining room claims it was a wild spa party, involving female guests.
The family yesterday filed a report with Glenelg police, complaining that a camera containing photographs of the party – including one of Carey and a female guest – was stolen from them by Carey's friends.
The family has sworn and signed statutory declarations detailing how their camera was taken by Carey's friends after a confrontation at the Stamford Grand Hotel.
Contrary to an earlier response from the Crows that they were "satisfied Wayne Carey was not involved in any incident at the Stamford Grand", Mr Reid admitted the club had now spoken to Carey about the night.
"We've spoken to Wayne and told him to be careful about those things," Mr Reid said.
"He's got to learn there's certain situations which don't occur and that's probably one of them."
Mr Reid said Carey had told him there were no compromising photographs of him.
The family who allegedly witnessed the party, has told police Carey's friends entered their room to take the family's camera that contained photographs of the party.
The photographs were taken by a girl the family's son had met in the foyer. She went into room 811, which was open and took the photographs but the son claims the camera was taken off her moments later.
An argument began between the family and the party guests in the corridor between the rooms, before moving into the family's room where one of the guests offered money for the camera.
The father says he handed over the camera because he felt intimidated.
In a signed statutory declaration, the family has detailed how, at the height of the party, the carpet in room 811 was flooded with water from an overcrowded spa.
In a statement given to Melbourne's Herald Sun newspaper, the father says he later complained to the hotel about the night and the inaction of hotel employees who witnessed the arguments over the camera. The family was later given $200 in free beverages and food from the hotel.
The man said he contacted Adelaide Football Club to arrange the return of his camera and had been told not to talk about the incident.
He says he was offered football tickets and dinners by Crows football manager John Reid.
Yesterday Mr Reid denied the club had paid for anything and said he had acted as a broker over the incident between the family and the party guests.
"We came up with the suggestion is there anything that can be done to resolve this," Mr Reid said.
Mr Reid said the offers of football tickets and dinner would have been paid for by the people at the party, not the Adelaide Football Club.
Carey's friend Cameron Mansell said last night the party was his 30th and he paid $1000 to the hotel for the water damage to the carpet.
He denied the spa was used and said it was a quiet night with 20 friends in the room.
Mr Reid said Carey had not been involved in any damage to the hotel, nor had he been photographed in a compromising position.
"I'm quite happy that Wayne was in no compromising position other than he was there," Mr Reid said.
"My understanding is that the people that had the room, did the damage and paid for the damage.
"I said to Wayne you don't need enemies if you've got a couple of mates that keep getting into that predicament."

Along the lines of 'see I told you he was trouble" and that they didn't want him. His parting comment was something like" thank god we didn't get him" It was just a total sledge. I'd love to see the cows and loins kill each other-and us flog them in the following weeks.
